If you’re looking for a winter getaway that gives you the all-elite experience, Santa Claus Holiday Village, located in Rovaniemi, Finland, has all your bases covered! From comfortable accommodations to culinary experts crafting the finest cuisines you can imagine, this holiday inn is a winter wonderland.
We all know that summer getaways are given much more love than the ones in winter, but Santa Claus Holiday Village brings people in every year for an incredible time in the snow.
Santa Claus Holiday Village is located in Rovaniemi, which is at the tip of the Arctic Circle, so you better pack up your skis and snow jackets if you plan to go. But what is it that makes this village so special?
All 158 apartments and cottages that are a part of the Santa Claus Holiday Village were built in the 2010s, which qualifies them as recently made. Utilizing some of the finest building materials
and tools, the amenities enclosed within the Village make it worth the visit. The Village really takes pride in providing a comfortable experience for families, so you shouldn’t forget to take your loved ones along to fill up that memory log.
Visitors can choose between the Classic or Superior Cottages or the five different Suites, each holding a capacity of four or five people, depending upon the choice of apartment. If anytime you feel like you need a change in the room or there’s something wrong with your place, the reception is available 24/7 at your service.
The price of the apartment you choose includes a buffet breakfast, bedding, and cleaning. Other accommodations can also include the daily cleaning, half board, or other additional services. You can choose your accommodation package as per your needs, or contact the Village for better guidance.
The Village does a fantastic job in the culinary department. Scandinavian food might not be a world-beater (yes, we’re looking at you, surströmming!), but the Village takes care of that problem with international flavors flowing through their kitchens.
You have three restaurants you can choose from: Three Elves, Christmas House, and Santa’s Cuisine. Three Elves, located at the heart of the Village, brings the finest Lappish ingredients to deliver dishes that’ll make you want seconds. Three Elves is the original Christmas House restaurant, popular among international and local visitors alike. If you’re in the mood for coffee, drop by any time for a steaming cappuccino or an espresso shot to start your day! Finally, Santa’s Cuisine is the newest restaurant yet in the Village. A typical Scandinavian setting over here, you should get a Runeberg torte and just enjoy the views outside, as snowy as they might be!
The Lobby Bar is where you head to if a drink is what you need to start your day or warm you up on the inside. This building is located in the main building, right next to the reception. All restaurants are child-friendly and have free Wi-Fi.
Any holiday village should be known for how it keeps its guests entertained, and the Village is well equipped in these areas. Whether it’s a husky sleigh ride or hunting for the mesmerizing Northern Lights, the Village doesn’t just help you make memories; it allows you to cherish them.
You can experience a fun and memorable day with reindeer and huskies during the five hours you’ll spend with them. Both these animals will give you and your loved ones a sleigh ride to the frozen pond, where you can drill a hole in the thick ice and start fishing. Test your luck in these frozen waters, and who knows, you might end up catching a good bite! This trip is safe for individuals of all ages, even children.
Another can’t-miss experience is having dinner in a glass igloo. Whether you’re out on a date with a special someone or having a meal with your friends, having dinner at the igloo is a must-try experience. Not only does the company matter here, but when you look outside and see the Northern Lights bursting out of the dark of the night, nothing compares to that. You can book a dinner here for up to eight people in a single reservation.
Speaking of the Northern Lights, when the sky illuminates with different colors against a black backdrop, it fills you with nothing but wonder and amazement. That’s the magic of the Aurora Borealis, and at the Village, you have a chance to experience all of this up close! You’ll be taken to an excellent location when chances of seeing the Borealis are high. These nighttime tours make for an unforgettable trip where you can safely explore the night sky of Lapland.
And what’s a Santa Claus Holiday Village without Santa being part of the fun? One activity available to indulge in is having Santa greet the entire family in the cabin or apartment where they’re staying. Of course, this can be done for free, but the queues and waiting time tend to suck the fun out of meeting Santa. For all the curious little minds out there, this is an opportunity to ask Santa a variety of questions. And, of course, what rounds up this entire experience is taking a bunch of photos with Santa!
A getaway at the Santa Claus Holiday Village will be a trip you’ll remember for a long time. Great food, fantastic company, and a collection of fun-filled activities await you at this spectacular Village in Rovaniemi, Finland.
