Before the read
A bold new vision is taking shape, blending culture, storytelling, and community in unexpected ways.
It is building a platform designed to amplify voices often overlooked in traditional media spaces.
Think beyond content. This is about experiences, partnerships, and conversations that push culture forward.
In this digital age, we do more than just consume media; we live and breathe it, and most of all, that content becomes part of our languages, cultures, and communities. We know digital media is a powerful force, but what does it look like when that force is used for good?
Allow us to reintroduce ourselves; we are TrooRa Magazine & Media, a self-made cultural ecosystem founded by Creative Director Trystanne Cunningham. “TrooRa has always been about creating space for voices, for truth, and for the stories that don’t always get the platform they deserve,” says Cunningham. “What we’re building now is a fully realized ecosystem, one that moves across editorial, media, live experiences, and community.”
On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, TrooRa Magazine & Media takes over The Academy SF in San Francisco to host TrooRa Founders Salon: A Conversation with Amber Ruffin. This curated event includes a fireside-style conversation with Tony & Emmy-nominated comedian/producer Amber Ruffin — The Womb Issue’s cover feature — as well as a cocktail hour with luxury brand Chopin Vodka.
The event allows TrooRa Magazine & Media to welcome old and new audiences with open arms to our expanded digital experience, where underrecognized creatives & entrepreneurs have a seat at the table. When legacy media gatekeeps, TrooRa Magazine & Media connects, bringing creative and cultural leaders to the forefront of global conversations.
This mission is exemplified most in the new 2026 partnership with Chopin Vodka, a brand with the same embedded visions of community. Family-run and farm-to-bottle, Chopin was founded by CEO Tad Dorda in 1993. Growing potatoes, wheat, and rye, local farmers near their Poland distillery provide the flavors that make Chopin a luxury vodka brand. Named one of Newsweek Readers’ Choice Awards’ Best Vodkas of 2026, Chopin believes in the craftsmanship, cultural stories, and community-driven experiences that TrooRa Magazine & Media upholds.
With new partnerships also comes a new podcast. In collaboration with Seneca Connor, founder of The Bag Icon, TrooRa Magazine & Media will soon debut the Issue Zero podcast series. Connor’s perspectives on fashion and entrepreneurship will naturally blend with the stories TrooRa Magazine & Media champions most.
“Issue Zero is exactly the kind of space I’ve been looking for, one that treats entrepreneurship, culture, and lived experience as inseparable,” Connor states. “Building a brand means navigating systems that weren’t designed with you in mind, and I’m proud to partner with this platform to have those conversations out loud.”
This May, TrooRa Magazine & Media will publish The Womb Issue, a love letter to motherhood, creation, and parenthood in all its forms. Cunningham shares her own personal journey alongside riveting stories that reframe what it means to create, nurture, and give life beyond the conventional definitions.
Slated for the year are summer’s The Border Issue, autumn’s The Comfort Issue, and winter’s The Wild Issue, all publications meant to share the unique, human-centric stories behind life’s common themes. For TrooRa Magazine & Media, 2026 is more than just a new beginning; it’s ushering in a new digital age, paving the way for positive, influential, and powerful media wrapped up in a true force of good.
Cunningham and the TrooRa Magazine & Media team are entering a new era, ready to take their place as community leaders of the multi-platform mediascape. “This next chapter is about intentional storytelling, meaningful partnership, and creating real visibility for the people shaping culture, often without recognition.”
