Living on a planet nicknamed Mother Earth makes sense when the human experience is so marked by motherhood. The clouds in our skies and plants in our soil are just as powerful and weighty as the innate parts of womanhood. From womb to full-fledged adult, women grow alongside the seasons of Earth, but sometimes it takes a presence like Kalkidan Gebreyohannes-Royster, also known as Kalu, to remind us of the ways we can tend to ourselves throughout this earthly journey.
